Conservation of Native Brazilian Forests on Private Land
Category: Removal – Conservation with Co-benefits
Launch date: 11/13/2024
Start of public consultation: 11/13/2024
End of public consultation: 12/13/2024
Version 2.0 release: 08/05/2025
Methodology description: A methodological procedure for data acquisition and structuring of greenhouse gas removal projects through the conservation of native private forests across all Brazilian biomes, aimed at reducing real emissions caused by land-use changes — primarily deforestation and forest degradation.
It recognizes the value of existing carbon stocks and the potential for new removals through biodiversity conservation and the maintenance of ecosystem services, while also highlighting qualitative co-benefit indicators related to community, biodiversity, and water resources.

PROJECT DEVELOPER

Project developers are companies with technically qualified professionals to develop, execute, and monitor carbon projects throughout their lifecycle. They work from conception through post-delivery, ensuring technical compliance, methodological consistency, and adherence to LuxCS's eligibility and traceability criteria.
INDEPENDENT THIRD-PARTY AUDIT

Audits are independent entities with the technical capacity to validate and verify the compliance of carbon projects. They operate at two distinct stages — validating eligibility and verifying the project in the field — ensuring that every certified carbon credit meets rigorous technical criteria, represents real environmental impact, and maintains credibility with the market and society.
